Life of a Woodworker

Its already May, 2016 and I feel as if this year is flying by. Before you know it, autumn will be upon us. One of our goals for this 2016 year was to begin keeping a regular blog that shares not only our life in the woodshop but life outside of it as well. So many things have happened in the past couple of months that it has been hard to keep up. To sum it up, I will give you a quick play by play as to what happened outside of our day-to-day woodwork and full time jobs:

January:

We cranked through a huge number of projects, one of our favorites being this solid Black Walnut table. Joe's favorite wood to work with is Black Walnut and it was a great to work with something outside of our regular reclaimed wood to further increase our skills and abilities of craftsmanship.

February:

We got a sweet little black lab puppy, Milla. Aka: Milla Monster. She has been a handful but Ruby has been training her in as her shop dog assistant and things seem to be going pretty well.

March:

Kristina traveled to India for business purposes with the Advertising Agency she works for, Periscope. Joe, Ruby & Milla were on their own for a week and a half trying to hold down the fort and pump out projects for the awesome Beams & Boards customers.

April:

We tapped Maple trees in Northern Wisconsin and made our own Maple Syrup. This was a spur of the moment experiment that turned out wonderfully. Now, our pancakes are extra tasty on Sunday mornings. :)

May:

We finally found a woodshop! Hooray! We are so excited to start moving our tools and equipment into the new space (and out of our garage). More space means more room to produce even more projects!

Well, that is it for now. We will return every Sunday and Wednesday with a new post. Hopefully, you enjoy following along in this crazy thing called life!
